Find Your Way to Connect to the Rays!

Image
Stingray City A Cayman Must Stingray City is always at the top of the list, in fact it’s been voted as the #1 must do activity on the island! Some of my passengers dive the 12’ site, while most stand on the adjacent sandbar to feed and touch the friendly Southern Atlantic sting rays. This year I received some new insight from my passengers the different ways they choose to connect to the rays. Ways to the Rays young and old love these fabulous creatures.  Those who have large families love large boats with plenty of space, bathrooms and professional photographers capturing their fun moments with the rays. They enjoy using Captain Marvin’s and Tours Cayman, both do a great job and I hear a lot of positive feedback about their service. Hearing great things about Captain Charlie who adds some local insight to his tours .  Now my newlyweds, oldie weds and couples in general prefer to yacht out to the rays! They seek a quality, c...

Passenger Pick of the Month Eagle Rays Bar and Grill Eagle Rays Bar and Grill Eagle Rays, a wonderful new place to dine on the East End, is being named by many passengers as one of the best new restaurants on the island. Ron Hargrave, owner and head chef of the very popular Tukka Restaurant, is the creator of Eagle Rays. Recently Passenger Picks caught up with Ron, a native Aussie and long-time Cayman Islands resident. PP: Ron, we've been anxiously awaiting the opening of your newest venture, Eagle Rays! RH: Eagle Rays is our new Dive Bar & Grill at Compass Point Dive Resort. We opened its non-existent doors in July, 2013. It's a beautiful location at 40 ft. above sea level with spectacular 180-degree views of the water, the waves, and the dive boats coming and going from the dock. PP: So a Dive Bar & Grill for divers? RH: We don't discrim...

Creator of passengerpicks.com, Delta flight attendant Val Kegel is featured in the latest Key To Cayman editions. Click to view: Fall 2013 ,  Spring 2013 ,  Fall 2012 Hello! My name is Val Kegel and I feel very fortunate - I absolutely love my job, and I absolutely love the Cayman Islands! As a flight attendant for a major airline for 40 years, I have spent the last seven years flying to and from Grand Cayman several times a week. During my flights I have asked thousands of passengers four questions: Where did you stay on the island? What businesses gave you the best service? What was your best restaurant experience? What was your favorite activity or hidden surprise that you would like to do again? What was your best Cayman shopping experience? Passengers give such good and frank advice; I summarized their comments in a Fun Fact Sheet which I hand to all my passengers traveling to Cayman. One thing about passengers, they will tell you what is hot and what is not!...
