Luxury Cayman Villas is fast becoming the go to source for high quality vacation home rentals in Grand Cayman.  But we're learning it is so much more than just a booking agency.  To gain more insight to this phenomenal resource, recently we caught up with Molly Thomas, founder of Luxury Cayman Villas.

PP: Molly, many passengers tell us that their initial stay on Grand Cayman is typically in a hotel.  But then, they want to return, this time with their whole family.  And instead want to stay in a private villa or spacious condominium.  Do you see this is a growing trend?

MT:  I do.  I'm hearing the same thing.  And I think it's driven by the desire families have to find a home away from home where they can spend quality time together and truly connect. 

PP:  You really have a unique insight into what traveling families are looking for.  Tell us about that, Molly. 

MT:  Well, my husband and I have always been travelers at heart, drawn to the unmatched excitement of exploration.  World adventures filled our lives from our studies abroad into the early years of our marriage.  Even when our careers kept us busy, travel remained a priority.  So, it seemed natural that when we decided to have kids, we would not stop traveling.  In fact, it was essential to us that we introduce our children to the world.  But let's be honest, though: traveling with kids is never the stress-free experience you wish it could be.  We got very good at the elaborate dance of transporting baby gear (and babies!) across countries and continents.  We created itineraries to suit our kids' unique personalities and tried to make sure we could get to each item on our list with minimal hassle and family "emergencies."  Choosing a destination to visit was the easy part – it was managing the logistics that challenged us!

PP:  You're so right, for traveling families it is all the detail and logistics that can frustrate us.  So Molly, would you share what you see as the essential components of a quality luxury family vacation?

MT:  Families just want things to be as effortless as possible once arriving at a destination so the focus can shift towards spending quality time together in a gorgeous setting. This becomes a reality when the essential details are taken care of; transportation, pre-stocked groceries and family-friendly essentials such as; cribs, high chairs, baby monitors and super comfy bedding, games and technology essentials.

PP:  We agree.  Time spent together is such a high value, but it can easily get derailed when the simple but essential details are missing.  So this leads us to ask about the how the vision of Luxury Cayman Villas born.

MT: I'm originally from upstate New York and Florida.  I'm a former lawyer, a wife and mom of two amazing kids and I'm fortunate to be able to live my dream of creating an environment where families can enjoy great vacations together.  I just love it.
