Stingray City A Cayman Must
Stingray City is always at the top of the list, in fact it’s been voted as the #1 must do activity on the island! Some of my passengers dive the 12’ site, while most stand on the adjacent sandbar to feed and touch the friendly Southern Atlantic sting rays. This year I received some new insight from my passengers the different ways they choose to connect to the rays. Ways to the Rays young and old love these fabulous creatures.
 Those who have large families love large boats with plenty of space, bathrooms and professional photographers capturing their fun moments with the rays. They enjoy using Captain Marvin’s and Tours Cayman, both do a great job and I hear a lot of positive feedback about their service. Hearing great things about Captain Charlie who adds some local insight to his tours .
 Now my newlyweds, oldie weds and couples in general prefer to yacht out to the rays! They seek a quality, calm experience with a few extra snorkel trips thrown in, maybe a sunset without the distraction of little ones. Acquarius and Cayman Private Charters, Paradise Sailing and Snorkeling, are doing a fantastic Job my couples love them! They still get their pictures and a quality, calm experience.
 My early birds choose to beat the crowds, get up early and Sail to enjoy “Breakfast with the Rays”! Red Sail offers a catamaran trip that leaves at 7:30 a.m. (Wednesday only at the moment) and arrives at the Stingray Sandbar before any other tours. The guests miss all the cruise ship crowds and can play with the stingrays in a tranquil environment far longer. Others love to Sail to the Rays many folks have enjoyed Stingray Sailing, a wonderful 43 foot catamaran to the Rays. Folks love how quite the Catamarans are Sun Rays Tours is another great choice.
 Now my teens and in-between’s and action oriented folks love to Jet Ski to the Rays! Ebanks Water Sports and Jet Ski Safari and Fishing Tours add that added action that the young and young at heart desire!
The beauty of stingray city is that all ages and stages can enjoy they just need to choose their way to connect to the Rays!

Celebrate Women's Dive Day

To celebrate Women’s Dive Day 2019 Divetech will bring together women hand in hand in an attempt to break their own World Record! In July 2018, 86 women at Divetech in Grand Cayman created a human chain along a 300ft line suspended at 15ft, thus ensuring the ladies were neutrally buoyant protecting the coral on the sea floor. Last year the charitable event raised over $3,000 US for the Cayman Islands Breast Cancer Foundation as well as raising awareness for women in diving globally across all disciplines including recreational, technical and Freediving. This year they are aiming for 100 women and for the event to be bigger and better! They are hoping for a number of the Cayman dive shops to join (bringing our dive community together), a raffle with lots of prizes (to help raise more money for the Breast Cancer Foundation), as well as local conservation organisations joining the event to raises awareness of island ocean issues, such as Lionfish as an invasive species.
