Located in the northwest coast of Grand Cayman, VIVO is the new vibrant cafe and restaurant from the renowned Chef Gilbert Cavallaro. It’s a new healthy culinary experience at Lighthouse Point. The name VIVO, was born from the experimentation with replacing traditional ingredients with raw, live alternatives, which are the summit of nutrition. The word VIVO comes from the Latin vīvō and means 'to live' or 'to be alive'. Their eco-friendly meat-free menu offers raw, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options. In an attempt to try and limit the invasive population of lionfish in Cayman’s, they are happy to also offer a tasty selection of lionfish dishes. They select our ingredients with the greatest care, to serve you natural, healthy, delicious food, prepared with passion and positive energy. What I am hearing:Passengers love the relaxed environment of this rustic little cafe.We caught up with the chef while on island and was so impressed with his passion for healthy and clean eating.  Breakfast fresh with all natural ingredients here is their famous SPICED RUM INFUSED FRENCH TOAST. Made with their own VIVO bread or gluten-free as shown,served with home made fruit compote Vegan version available upon request.
Because I am a diver and know the threat of Lion fish. They are taking over many of our reefs. I appreciate VIVO serving up lion fish daily to support the efforts to attempt to limit the invasive population of  the Cayman waters. They have the perfect location for they are on the property of DiveTech at Lighthouse Point. You can even watch the folks bring in the bad boys! You will love this best kept secret that passengers are raving about! Make it a must EAT destination!
 

Check out one of their signature salads with coconut garnished ceviche. They use the purest of coconut oil and fresh local coconuts to enhance many of their en tree's.

To celebrate Women’s Dive Day 2019 Divetech will bring together women hand in hand in an attempt to break their own World Record! In July 2018, 86 women at Divetech in Grand Cayman created a human chain along a 300ft line suspended at 15ft, thus ensuring the ladies were neutrally buoyant protecting the coral on the sea floor. Last year the charitable event raised over $3,000 US for the Cayman Islands Breast Cancer Foundation as well as raising awareness for women in diving globally across all disciplines including recreational, technical and Freediving. This year they are aiming for 100 women and for the event to be bigger and better! DIVETECH BREAKS WORLD RECORD FOR LONGEST FEMALE SCUBA CHAIN To celebrate PADI women’s dive day 2019 Divetech have once again brought together women hand in hand, breaking their own World Record! In July 2018, 86 women created a human chain along a 300ft line at Divetech’s shore diving location, this year the ladies smashed their own record with 107 female divers! Although the event was organized by Divetech support was received from many of the other dive centres in Grand Cayman who donated, staff, tanks and equipment to ensure the record could be broken. On the day itself the community came together with businesses donating hundreds of dollars worth of prizes for a raffle. Representatives from the Cayman Department of Environment, the Central Caribbean Marine Institute (CCMI) and Lionfish Cull experts were on hand to educate the attendee’s as well as the local marine police helping with safety & surface watch.
